A big well done to our team of fencers (Robin, Steven and Kate) who took gold at the Cambridgeshire Intermediate Team Competition. They saw off all the other 5 teams without losing a single match. Now you've got gold once, we expect nothign less in the future ;)
Well done to Tom Miller who came 3rd at the Cambridgeshire Novices competition. An excellent result against strong oposition.
Well done to Mark Caldwell and Robin Parkes who both achieved excellent results at the Cambridge Winter Open Tournament on 07-01-2007. Robin came 45th and Mark came 11th. Congratulations to both of you.
The club AGM was held on Tuesday 5th December. All committee positions remain unchanged. The minutes may be available here soon.
Congratulations to Mark Caldwell who came 6th in the Mens Foil event at the Hereford & Worcester Open on Sun 3rd December. The H&W is a stiff competition with some of the countries best attending. Well done Mark.
Tuesday 26th September saw a band of fencers arrive from Stowmarket Fencing Club for a friendly team competition. A good night's fencing was had by all with the chance to fence new people. The night ended well with each club winning 2 out of the 4 matches.
Another good result for Mark Caldwell who came 88th in the Men's Foil event at the Essex Open on 2nd September.
Congratulations to Steven Morley and Stuart Clough who recently gained more coaching qualifications from the British Academy of Fencing. Steve gained his Epee qualification on 22nd July in addition to gaining his Foil qualification at Easter. Stuart gained his Foil qualification on 22nd July. Well done to both.
Good news for our fencers at the Hereford & Worcester Open. Mark Caldwell came 68th whilst Jack Toulson and Stuart Clough came joint 92nd in a tournament that looks like it might become one of the big 6 and replace the Leicester.
Another good result for Mark Caldwell who represented the club at the Eastern Region Under 18's Championship achieving 2nd Place in a tough competition. Very well done to Mark.
Sunday 20th November 2005 saw 3 of our members brave the cold weather and venture to Cambridge for the Cambridgeshire Intermediate Foil competition, Mark Caldwell, Robin Parkes and Stuart Clough, achieving 2nd, 3rd and 10th respectively. Mark after an impressive display through the poole fights and DE went out to Donald Hyndman of Cambridge Sword.
